If you’re a Mac user like me, who uses VirtualBox to run guest / virtual Operating Systems within OS X, you will most likely encounter errors with VirtualBox under Mavericks, specifically if you upgrade to OS 10.9 from a pre-existing OS X install where VirtualBox was already installed.
- How to install Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 on VirtualBox on Windows; Download macOS X Yosemite 10.10 Image for VMware & VirtualBox. The image file of macOS X Yosemite is created only to install in VMware and VirtualBox. Therefore, the file is completely compressed with Winrar and 7Zip. Which voluntarily you can install it on VMware or VirtualBox.
- Before we install OS X, we’ll need to set up VirtualBox so the OS X install disc can boot correctly. Here’s what you need to do: Step 1: Launch VirtualBox and click the New button. Give your new virtual machine a name (I just called it “Mac OS X”) and set the operating system to “Mac OS X Server (64-bit)”.
These issues will include anything relating to “Kernel Extension” errors when launching the VirtualBox application or “Kernel Driver Not Installed” errors when launching a Virtual Machine.
I have been trying to use Hackboot to install OSX Mavericks in VirtualBox, and using an ISO image created by following the steps at How to create bootable ISO for OS X Mavericks. The steps I have taken: Attach HackBoot1.iso, disable EFI for the VirtualBox guest and boot up; Hackboot starts up. Attach the OS X Mavericks bootable ISO image.
If this happens:
1. (Re)Download and (re)install the latest version of VirtualBox for OS X.
2. (Re)Download (re)install the respective Extension Pack.
3. In a shell (Terminal),
cd /Library/Extensions
and sudo rm -rf VBox*.kext
4. Reboot
This should solve all of your issues. Step 3 above is important because it appears that those Kernel Extension files are for older versions of VirtualBox (pre-4.3) that are not cleaned up by a re-install of VirtualBox, and will cause issues with 4.3 (which is the latest version of VirtualBox at the time of this writing).
While you’re at it, you may as well reinstall the Guest Additions in your respective VMs after you fix your VirtualBox install.
I just got done installing Mac OS X Mavericks to my VirtualBox, but whenever I launch it it gives me a couple of issues.Mac Os Image For Virtualbox
Issue #1:It tells me: 'VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature and will fail to boot without it.', but I can click continue which brings me to issue #2.
But before I get into issue #2, let me just say that on enabled VT-x, I already did that. I went into my BIOS and enabled Virtualization Technology. What's more that I have to do?

Whenever I go to the boot menu and press 'ENTER' and/or type '-v' then press 'ENTER', it just brings up this small dialog for 1/2 a second and then disappears, and it doesn't allow me to go through the setup process.
